Overview

If your visa application is approved, your passport with visa will be returned to you at your home/office address via courier or made available for collection from a designated pick-up location in the center of Bratislava.

All delivery options are free of charge.

Home Delivery

If the selected the delivery option is Home delivery, your passport will be returned to you to the home/office address you provided in your user profile by

  • Messenger Express courier (if your delivery address is in Bratislava) or via
  • TNT courier services (for addresses outside Bratislava)

Please note that the courier will make two delivery attempts. Please be sure you indicate a valid phone number under your profile. If you are not available at the given address, a card will be left asking you to contact the courier. During this time frame Messenger will store your passport for 15 calendar days, while TNT will keep it for 5 days. After that, the passport will be returned to the Embassy. 

 

Pickup Location

Alternatively, you may choose to collect your passport from the pick-up location in Bratislava

Opening hours: Monday - Friday between 9:30am - 4:00pm.

You are required to present a photo ID when collecting the passport. We advice to present the appointment confirmation letter of your visa interview in order to make the pick up process fast and easy. If somebody else (family member or third party) will pick-up the passport on your behalf, that person will have to present an authorization letter and a valid photo ID.

 

You will receive a notification via e-mail and SMS as soon as your passport is ready to be delivered to you.

Note: If you have urgent travel needs, you will have to mention that to the consular officer during the interview, who will determine whether or not you will be able to pick up your visa form the Consular Section; please note that there is no guarantee that this will be possible, and a number of factors can affect the processing time for your visa. When possible, it is best to avoid booking your travel until you have your passport and visa in your hands.

Change Delivery Options

You may change your preferred document delivery address online or through the call center until midnight before the day of your interview appointment. There is no cost to change your delivery preferences.

We strongly advise you not to change the pickup location after the time limit. Any changes to your desired pickup location after this time limit will lead to a delay in your passport delivery.

Check the Status of Your Visa

You can check the status of your application any time at this website: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx. Please wait at least three business days following your visa interview to check on the status of your application. The system may not have updated the status of your application prior to that time, and thus the message you receive may not reflect the actual status of your application.

Instant: Enter your passport number below to check on the status.

 

 

If your status shows "origination scan", it means your passport has left the Embassy or Consulate is on its way to the delivery location you have chosen. It is however not available yet.

When the status shows "ready for pick up", it means that the courier is about to deliver your passport at the address indicated during the appointment scheduling process or the passport has been delivered to the pickup location.

The Embassy or the Consulate cannot help you regarding the status of your passport delivery. Please do not contact the Embassy or Consulate regarding the status of your passport delivery.

Email: Send an email to passportstatus@ustraveldocs.com and in the subject and/or body enter a valid passport number exactly as it was entered at the time the appointment was scheduled. Do not include any additional text. You will receive an automatic response with the status.
