Urgent information for visa applicants regarding novel coronavirus:

Any individuals with pending consular appointments who (1) were physically present within the People’s Republic of China, excluding the Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macau, within the last 14 days, (2) are experiencing flu-like symptoms, or (3) believe they have may have been exposed to the novel coronavirus, are strongly encouraged to postpone their appointments by at least 14 days. There is no fee to change an appointment and visa application fees are valid for one year in the country where the fee was paid. For questions about rescheduling a pending consular appointment, please send an email to support-slovakia@ustraveldocs.com for specific guidance. Information concerning rescheduling a pending consular appointment is also available at http://cdn.ustraveldocs.com/sk/sk-niv-appointmentschedule.asp.

If you surrendered your expired passport with a valid U.S. nonimmigrant visa to the Slovak Police, you should not apply for ESTA in advance of your travel to the U.S.  Please contact the U.S. Embassy via e-mail at consulbratislava@state.gov to report that your valid visa has been retained, or file a new application for a visa following the instructions at www.ustraveldocs.com/sk.

Each applicant must complete the on-line DS-160 application at https://ceac.state.gov/CEAC . Please note that without the DS-160 confirmation page, applicants will not be allowed to their interview and they will need to schedule a new appointment.  Even if you have had a visa in the past, you must fill out a new DS-160 to apply for a new visa. Please make sure you read carefully the steps required to apply for a US Visa on our website: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/sk/sk-niv-visaapply.asp
