Effective July 31st, 2021 US Embassy in Moscow discontinues acceptance of nonimmigrant visa application fees through the network of computerized Russia Post branch in Russia. There are no plans to resume acceptance of nonimmigrant visa application fees at this point of time. All fees purchased before August 1st, 2021 are valid until September 30, 2023. MRV fees are non-refundable and non-transferable to a different applicant or country of application.

Starting from June 1, 2022, all document delivery service resume and are becoming premium.

Currently this service is available only to Immigrant visa applicants who were either required to submit additional documents or would like to collect their documents after processing. Applicants can submit and collect their documents via one of 22 VFS Global document delivery locations. Alternatively, applicants could opt for delivery of their processed documents to home or office address after processing.

The fee for the delivery service is 32.5 USD (in Russian Rubles at the applicable exchange rate) per applicant. Please find additional information on submitting documents on this page, and information regarding collection of documents on this page.

U.S. Embassy Moscow no longer offers non-diplomatic visa services due to the Russian government’s April 23 notification prohibiting the U.S. Embassy Russia from employing foreign nationals in any capacity. Russian nationals may continue applying for non-immigrant visas at any U.S. embassy or consulate where they can obtain an appointment. Due to the suspension of immigrant visa services at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, the U.S. Department of State has designated the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw to process immigrant visas for residents of Russia. Please find additional information here. We are not processing boarding foils at this time. We regret that the actions of the Russian government have made it impossible for our office to continue offering non-diplomatic visa services in Russia. All consular services at the U.S. Consulates in Yekaterinburg and Vladivostok remain in suspended status.

Effective Sunday, June 12 at 12:01 a.m. EDT, the CDC rescinded its Order requiring all airline or other aircraft passengers to show a negative COVID-19 test result or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 to board any aircraft destined to the United States from a foreign country. Of note, CDC’s Order requiring proof of vaccination for non-U.S. citizen nonimmigrants to travel to the United States is still in effect. The U.S. Mission to Russia understands that many visa applicants have paid the visa application processing fee and are still waiting to schedule a visa appointment. We are working diligently to restore all routine visa operations as quickly and safely as possible. In the meantime, rest assured that the U.S. Mission will extend the validity of your payment (known as the MRV fee) until September 30, 2023, to allow all applicants who were unable to schedule a visa appointment as a result of the suspension of routine consular operations an opportunity to schedule and/or attend a visa appointment with the already paid fee. Please continue to monitor this site for information on when we will return to routine visa operations. Please note that MRV fees are only valid for use within the country where they were purchased.

Effective June 1, 2021 provision of document delivery services is discontinued from 27 Russia post document delivery location in Russia. VFS Global document delivery locations will continue to provide the services. Please visit this page to learn additional information about the list of locations.

We would like to inform callers who are intending to schedule an appointment through our call center that our call center agents have the same access to appointment slots or scheduling as applicants have in their profiles. If there is no availability when applicants attempt to schedule an appointment, they will not encounter more availability through the call center. Applicants whose profiles are temporarily blocked will need to wait 72 hours before access to their profiles will be restored.

You will NOT be permitted to enter the U.S. Embassy with (a) electronic devices or accessories, including mobile phones, tablets (such as iPads), e-readers, smaller electronic devices such as smartwatches and electronic fitness devices, USB flash drives, cables, wires, and headphones; (b) any large bag or luggage; or (c) any sharp or flammable items (including perfume and other sprays), weapons, ammunition, or explosives.
