Apply for Emergency Visa Appointment

If you have to travel for an emergency, you may qualify for an expedited appointment.

Emergency Appointment Criteria

It is essential that you are in possession of the required documentation before you make this request. Please be aware that false statements about the need for an emergency appointment may adversely affect the case credibility during the visa interview.

1. Medical Emergency: Purpose of travel is to obtain emergency medical care, to accompany a relative or employer for emergency medical care, or to travel to be with a an immediate family member (mother, father, brother, sister, child, grandparent, or grandchild) undergoing emergency medical care in the United States. Required proof: A letter from the doctor who is treating/will treat you or your loved one describing the medical condition and the urgency of the situation; evidence of your relationship to the sick or injured person.

2. Funeral/Death: Purpose of travel is to attend the funeral of or make arrangements for repatriating the body of an immediate family member (mother, father, brother, sister, child, grandparent, or grandchild) in the United States. Required proof: A letter from the funeral director stating the contact information and details of the deceased and date of the funeral; evidence that the deceased is an immediate relative.

3. Business: Purpose of travel is to attend to a business matter where the travel requirement could not be predicted sufficiently in advance. Required proof: a letter from the corresponding company in the United States and from the Philippine company attesting to the urgency of the planned visit, describing the nature of the business and the loss if an emergency appointment is not available.

Important Note: It will take 4 hours for your MRV fee to be processed. Then you may proceed to step 3.

Important Note: If you have paid the fee online or at BPI, it will take 4 hours from the time of purchase for your fee receipt to be processed. In case you have paid the fee through BancNet, you need to wait for 1 day from the date of purchase . Then you may proceed to Step 3

Step 3: Click here to complete the Emergency Request Form or call the call center to request an emergency appointment, ensuring that you note what type of emergency you believe qualifies you for an expedited appointment. Once you have submitted your request, please wait for a response from the Embassy/Consulate.

Step 4: If the Embassy/Consulate approves your request, they will send you an Emergency Code which you can use to schedule an emergency appointment online or at the call center.

Step 5: Visit the U. S. Embassy/Consulate on the date and time of your scheduled interview carrying the requisite documents.
