Overview

If your visa application is approved, your passport and visa can be collected from the pickup location you selected when you scheduled for interview appointment. When your passport is available at selected location you will receive an email that your passport is “Ready for Pick Up”. Please check your spam and/or junk email folder on a regular basis, for important emails that may have been mistakenly filtered.

If you were issued a 221(g) letter and instructed by the Embassy or Consulate to submit additional documentation for further processing, you should submit those documents to Team CGI, which will deliver your documents to the Embassy.

Optional Premium Delivery Services: Effective May 1, 2024, the charges have been revised to NPR. 650- per passport/document, payable in cash only. Payment for this service may be made at the cash counters of Nepal Investment Mega Bank at these locations. This service is optional.

Premium Pick-up and Submission Locations

Now you can collect / submit your documents at one of the five Premium Documents locations at Nepal.

  • Pay via cash over the counter at Nepal Investment Mega Bank Limited at the location before collecting/submitting your documents.
  • Rapid, Reliable, time-definite delivery.
  • Delivery to 5 locations in Nepal.
  • Secure handling of documents.
  • Available at a nominal cost of NPR 650 (effective May 1, 2024, inclusive of taxes) for each document/passport.
  • Premium Delivery fee of NPR 650 (effective May 1, 2024) is an additional fee and it is not a part of the Visa Application Fee.
  • The payment receipt for this service will be issued to you from NIMB at the same time

Passport Pick-up Information

If your visa application is approved, your passport and visa can be collected from the pickup location you selected when you scheduled for interview appointment.

In order to ensure that your passport and visa are not given to an unauthorized person, you must present a government-issued photo ID for identification when you collect your passport.

The necessary documents needed for passport pickup:

Applicant collecting own passport:

  • Applicant's original government-issued photo ID with a photo copy
  • DS160 confirmation page or Appointment confirmation letter is preferred.

Representative collecting passport:

  • Photocopy of Applicant's government-issued photo ID.
  • Authorization letter from the applicant in original.
  • DS160 confirmation page or Appointment confirmation letter is preferred.
  • Original government-issued photo ID of the authorized person with a copy

If your passport is not collected within 14 calendar days from selected location it will be sent back to the respective Embassy or Consulate. You can only pick your passport after the Embassy contacts you with directions for how to pick it up. You must bring the email regarding collection of your passport sent by the Embassy.

Important Note:

  • Government-issued photo ID can be a passport biographic information page, NID or driving license.
  • An ORIGINAL letter of authority must contain the following information:
    • Representative's full name as on their government-issued photo ID,
    • Applicant’s name and Passport number,
    • Should be signed in original by all applicants
  • If Husband is collecting passport/document on behalf of wife or vice-versa please bring relevant documents as listed in the table above. Authority letter signed by spouse applicant in original is mandatory.
  • Children below 18 years of age will not be allowed to collect any/self-passport. An original letter of authority signed by any one parent is mandatory, if representative is collecting passport or any one parent in person can collect a child passport with above required supporting documents.
  • Please bring a copy of your DS160 / Appointment confirmation letter along with above supporting documents for speedy collection of passport at the counter.
