Starting from July 1, 2021 document pick-up\drop-off service via DHL branches in Kazakhstan will be discontinued. Applicants who intend to submit their interview waiver applications after June 15th or have interview appointments after June 23rd and who opted for home (not premium) delivery or pick-up from DHL office are requested to update their delivery preferences as soon as possible. Pick up/drop off services will remain available at the VFS locations in Almaty and Nur-Sultan.

Once your visa application is approved, your documents will be returned to you by one of the two delivery options described below:

  • Collection from one of the following offices of VFS Global.
    • Almaty, Timiryazeva str., 28V, office 104 , BC "ALATAU GRAND", opening times Monday to Friday, 8:30 - 17:00 (closed on holidays).
    • Nur-Sultan, Kabanbayi-batyr ave., 6/1, office 111, BC "KASKAD", opening times Monday to Friday, 8:30 - 17:00 (closed on holidays).

    There are no extra fees associated with either aspect of this service - the cost for VFS Global to hold your passport is included in the visa application fee. The passport will be available for collection at the pickup location for a maximum of 10 working days.

  • Premium home/office delivery service - The delivery service is available in 20 cities of Kazakhstan.

    Once documents would be ready to ship, you would be contacted over email and requested to pay a fee of 7.50 USD (in Kazakhstan Tenge at the exchange rate applicable for the day of notification)/per applicant online by credit card. You may modify your delivery option until 23:59 before the date of your appointment by logging into your profile and selecting Change Document Delivery option from the Dashboard.

    Note: DHL Courier company will make 1 attempt with prior call notification to deliver the passport to the selected document delivery address. If the courier will not be able to deliver the passport due to the applicant’s unavailability or address is not exist, it will be returned to DHL's nearest office for collection. The passport will be available for collection at the DHL office for a maximum of 10 working days after that it will be returned to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate.

    Change Delivery Options

    You may change your preferred document delivery address online or through the call center until midnight on the day of your interview appointment. There is no cost to change your delivery preferences.

    Passport Tracking Options

    Instant: Enter your passport number below to check on the status. If your passport is ready for pick-up, please bring supporting documents and collect it in a timely manner. If your passport is not collected within 10 business days it will be sent back to the Embassy or Consulate.

    Email: Send an email to and in the subject and/or body enter a valid passport number exactly as it was entered at the time the appointment was scheduled, and you will receive an automatic response with the status.

    Appointment scheduling process

    Please note that due to goverment advisory around COVID-19 pandemic, VFS Global Document Delivery Locations in Nur Sultan and Almaty can receive applicants only up on prior appointments. To make an appointment:

    Step 1. Decide your preferred Document Delivery Location

    Step 2. Draft an email with following details:

  • Name and Surname
  • UID number (optional)
  • Preferred Date and Time of Visit
  • City ( Please mention one city name- Nur Sultan or Almaty)
  • Step 3. Send the email to one of the following email addresses. – in case submitting application via VFS Office in Almaty - in case submitting application via VFS Office in Nur-Sultan

    Step 4. An autoreply shall be sent to you as the official confirmation of the appointment.

    Supporting Documents

    To collect your passport you must present your original (not a photocopy) government-issued photo ID. We recommend you also bring a printed copy of your appointment letter.

    If a representative is collecting your passport from the document collection office on your behalf - even in case of family members - the representative must present:

    • Their own original government-issued photo ID for identification
    • A photocopy of your government-issued photo ID
    • A letter of authority signed by you, authorizing your representative to collect your passport. The letter of authority must contain the following information:
      • Your representative's full name as shown on their government-issued photo ID
      • Your name

    If the applicant is under the age of 16, the following documents are required:

    • An original, signed letter of authority from either of the applicant's parents
    • A clear photocopy of the government-issued photo ID belonging to the parent who signed the applicant's letter of authority
    • The representative's original government-issued photo ID
      Note: In case of a group/family, a single letter of authority with the required information for each of the applicants will be accepted.
