Cases processed through NVC

NVC notifies the applicant that an interview has been scheduled. Applicants who were notified of their appointment through NVC do not need to schedule an appointment through the U.S. Consulate Frankfurt. Please follow the interview preparation information and attend your interview on the appointment date provided by NVC.

If a case has been current for over three months and no visa appointment letter has been received, contact the NVC.

You must bring a printed copy of your appointment letter, your current passport and all old passports to the visa interview. You must have completed your medical exam before your interview. Applications without all of these items will not be accepted.

Only applicants with appointments will be admitted into the U.S. Embassy. Due to space constraints we are unable to allow third parties, including friends, employees, or attorneys, to accompany applicants to interviews. Minor children (under 18 years of age) may be accompanied by a guardian adult, and disabled applicants needing assistance may bring an escort. Petitioners of family-based IV applicants may attend the interview but are not required to do so.
Beneficiaries are strongly advised not to finalize travel arrangements, dispose of their property, or give up their jobs until after they have been issued visas. Quitting a job, leaving school, selling property and/or closing bank accounts prior to visa issuance may be risky, as in certain cases visa issuance may be delayed for some time.
