Immigrant and K Visa Fees
Overview
All Immigrant Visa fees may be made in either U.S. dollars or the Chinese Renminbi (RMB) equivalent at the Consulate's exchange rate on the day of the applicant's interview. We accept cash and credit (Visa, Master, American Express, Diners Club and Discover) only. Personal checks are not accepted. A combination of U.S. dollars and Chinese RMB will not be accepted.
Applicants who have paid their immigrant visa fee to NVC are not required to pay additional fees unless the applicant has paid only a partial amount to NVC. Anyone subject to a balance of IV fees will be informed during his or her visa interview.
K applicants must pay a non-refundable, non-transferable Machine Readable Visa (MRV) application fee with Alipay or at any branch of CITIC Bank.
USCIS Immigrant Fee
All individuals issued immigrant visas overseas must pay a USCIS Immigrant Fee before traveling to the United States. Only prospective adoptive parents whose child(ren) is/are entering the United States under either the Orphan or Hague Process, Iraqi and Afghan special immigrants who were employed by the U.S. government, returning residents, and those issued K visas are exempt from the new fee. This USCIS website has more details on the fee, including contact information for USCIS, if there are further questions.
