Passport/Visa Collection Locations

If your visa application is approved, your passport and visa will be returned by Slovakia Post in an envelope to the address you previously indicated during the appointment scheduling process.

You will receive a notification via e-mail and SMS as soon as your passport is ready to be delivered to you.

If a family member wants to receive the passports on your behalf, that person will have to show an ID indicating that he/she leaves at the same address. Anybody else than a family member willing to receive the passport on your behalf will have to show an ID and a written authorization from you.

If the envelope cannot be delivered, the mailman will leave a notification into your mailbox informing you that the passport is ready for pick-up from the nearest Post Office.

You must collect your passport within 7 calendar days. Slovakia Post will hold your passport for only 7 calendar days, after which it will be returned to the Embassy/Consulate.

When you come to the Post Office to pick-up your passport, you need to present a photo ID. If somebody else will pick-up the passport on your behalf, that person will have to present a written authorization from you and a photo ID.

Note: If you have urgent travel needs, you will have to mention that to the consular officer during the interview, who will determine whether or not you will be able to pick up your visa; please note that there is no guarantee that this will be possible, and a number of factors can affect the processing time for your visa. When possible, it is best to avoid booking your travel until you have your passport and visa in your hands.

Change Delivery Options

You may change your preferred document delivery address online or through the call center until midnight before the day of your interview appointment. There is no cost to change your delivery preferences.

We strongly advise you not to change the pickup location after the time limit. Any changes to your desired pickup location after this time limit will lead to a delay in your passport delivery.

Check the Status of Your Visa

You can check the status of your application any time at this website: Please wait at least three business days following your visa interview to check on the status of your application. The system may not have updated the status of your application prior to that time, and thus the message you receive may not reflect the actual status of your application.
