Overview

If your visa application is approved, your passport and visa will be returned to you by the company SIA DKL Latvia (for addresses in Riga)or by Latvian Post (for addresses in Latvia outside Riga). You may choose to have your documents delivered by one of the two options described below:

  • Collection from SIA DKL Latvia office in Riga - this option is free of charge

  • Premium Home/Office delivery service - Depending on the address indicated in the profile, your documents will be sent to your home/office via DKL Latvia courier services or Latvian postal courier services. There is an additional fee to be paid - cash only - for this service:
    • Premium delivery within Riga with DKL Latvia courier services - 6.71 eur + VAT
    • Premium delivery outside Riga with Latvian postal services - 9.30eur + VAT

You will be notified via e-mail and SMS as soon as the passport is ready for delivery.

If your delivery address is outside Riga and if the document delivery cannot be completed, a mailman will leave a notification in your mailbox requesting you to visit a local Latvian Post office within 14 calendar days and to pick-up the document packet there. If unclaimed during that time period, your passport will be returned to the Embassy and you will have to make personal arrangements for receiving it there.

Change Delivery Options

You may change your preferred document delivery address online or through the call center until midnight the day prior to your interview appointment. There is no cost to change your delivery preferences

For your convenience, you have several options to choose from to track the location of your passport.

Instant: Enter your passport number below to check on the status.

 

 

Email: Send an email to passportstatus@ustraveldocs.com and in the subject and/or body enter a valid passport number exactly as it was entered at the time the appointment was scheduled. Do not include any additional text. You will receive an automatic response with the status.

Online: You can track your passport online here.

Chat and Telephone: You can track your passport with the assistance of our call center via chat or telephone. The call center's contact information and a full description of our call center services, including hours of operation, can be found here.

Supporting Documents

To collect your passport you must present your original (not a photocopy) government-issued photo ID. We recommend you also bring a printed copy of your appointment letter.

If somebody else will receive the passport on your behalf, that person will have to present a written authorization from you and a photo ID or a copy of the passport.

Note: In case of a group/family, a single letter of authority with the required information for each of the applicants will be accepted.
