Visa for Applicants Age 79+

On this page:

Overview

If you are over age 79 and have been to the U.S. before, you do not need to come to an interview at the Embassy. Like all applicants, you must have a valid passport, a photo taken within the past 6 months, and a completed DS-160 application. Like other applicants, make an appointment on-line in your name. If you are traveling with another family member who is also applying for a visa, that person can bring your application at the time of his/her interview. If not, you may ask an immediate family member to come to your appointment in your place. Again, the appointment will still be in your name.
