Overview

If your visa application is approved, your passport and visa will be available for pick up at the U.S. Embassy. The Consular Officer will inform you of your pick-up date and mark the date on your claim check which will be provided at the end of your interview. Pick-up time is always between 3:30-4:30 pm on a Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday. The Embassy is closed to the public on Tuesdays.

Check the Status of Your Visa

You can check the status of your application any time at this website: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx. Please wait at least three business days following your visa interview to check on the status of your application. The system may not have updated the status of your application prior to that time, and thus the message you receive may not reflect the actual status of your application.

Required Documents for Passport Retrieval

· In order to collect your passport, please bring a government-issued photo ID and the numbered claim check given to you at the time of your interview.

· If a family member or other representative is collecting your passport on your behalf, please ensure that the person collecting the passport has the numbered claim check and a photocopy of your government-issued photo ID.
